A surprising snow fall on April 26!

I thought when the cherry blossoms bloomed we were done with winter?  Guess not!  Is this perhaps the last snowfall until November?  It has been so pretty....green grass, flowers blooming, we even put the heavy coats away.  Oh well, I guess it's more percipitation for the grass.

I am glad we went to the cherry blossom festival yesterday!  The poor cherry blossom leaves are going to fall off because of the heavy snow on their branches now.  Normally they only last for two weeks.

Cherry Blossom Festival

Yep...another festival that we attended...I told you that there is at least 1 per month once the weather gets nice.

We went to see Hirosaki castle to see the cherry blossoms in bloom.  I am not going to lie...Elijah wasn't very 'into' the whole thing.  He asked if there was a place to play for the kids.  Hmmmmm not so much.  He stuck in there though - once I bought his cotton candy.  Enjoy the pics!

Not so sure who the random American kid is between us.

waiting in line for the castle (Kim am I getting better with backgrounds?)

So EVERY TIME (I am not exaggerating) we go on a trip Japanese people are amazed by Elijah.  Eddie and I aren't so sure whether it is his large eyes, the fact that he says konichiwa to them and bows appropriately, or that he is with such a beautiful lady (I would like to think the 3rd choice - I am sure Eddie would say it's not though), but these sweet 60+ year olds stopped us at a rest stop to take pics with everyone in their party......there were about 4 more people in their party.  He loves the attention!

The Hirosaki castle...we went inside and all he remembered the next morning was the swords, guns and steep stairs we had to walk up and down.  Such a boy :)
My silly little guy ..... YES it was cold that day.....the festival is about 2 1/2 hours north of where we live.

Comedy juggling stunt show

Friday night we (Elijah and I) went to go see Rootberry with my good friend, Jene.  When I walked into the lobby area I was astounded by the amount of kids that were there....I know it seems like a no brainer (it being a family event and all) I guess it just still amazes me that Misawa is so small that no matter where I go I still see about half my math class sitting around me.

Anywho, the show was a lot of fun!  Adults were laughing out loud as well as kids - very entertaining!
Elijah QUICKLY found a classmate to sit next to during the show.....laughing out loud at the entertainment!
One of the guys was swallowing a sword when I took this pic

Happy Easter Sunday!

Elijah was in the Easter children's service.  They sang and danced.  It was adorable :)

The only thing is that Elijah 'talks' a BIG game!  I mean a big game too!  He sings the songs in the car that he learns and talks about how excited he is to get up and perform, but when it is show time he seems to forget EVERYTHING - especially how to smile and ACT like he is enjoying himself.

I motioned to him to smile for this picture....that was the only smile for the whole performance..hmmm?
Notice how Elijah's arms are not like everyone else's.........once again he practiced this move COUNTLESS times at home -- correctly!
This is after I told him he did a great job and was the best lil guy up there!  He was really proud of himself!   He told me he looked like "A Church Man"....then proceeded to act like he was holding a microphone in his hand and said, "The Lord is in this place!"

We really are still alive.......

.....I know I haven't blogged in hmmm forever. It's just that there really hasn't been that much going on that I think is interesting enough to blog about. Here is an update on us:

1. We are on spring break! HALLELUJAH! I mean I really love teaching for numerous reasons...spring break is one of them! I mean what other profession do you get a week off with your children?

2. I called my mom a few weeks ago....I had an epiphany! Since Eddie left I am unable to go to the gym in the morning, so I go after school with Elijah to the mommy and me room. Elijah plays and plays with all the other kids while we watch them on the treadmill and then Elijah and I go to the weight room where he sits behind a desk and reads, colors or draws pictures of Pokemon, Hulk, Naruto or any other superhero he can think of at the time.

So as soon as we get home I jump in the shower......now please note that I am not a 'long' shower taker......I think with my 12 years of military experience I have grown to wash, rinse and be out within 6 minutes (no joke)! Why is it that EVERY time I turn off the shower Elijah is knocking at the bedroom door asking if he can do something (play with his toys, play outside, etc.)? Hmmm so I called my mom and apologized to her ....... for EVERY time I did NOT allow her to take a shower in peace. My mom laughed!

Man I miss Eddie - he occupied Elijah while I took showers :)

3. So Eddie has been gone for almost 2 months now! YEAH! Staying busy helps plus the GREAT support system at this base! We are about 1/3 of the way done with this deployment.
